How I got here
I was born and raised in Swindon. I grew up in the Pinehurst area and went to Headlands School. After leaving school, I worked various jobs from factories to call centres, but it wasn’t for me so I decided to take a leap and join the army in the 1st Battalion the rifles. I absolutely loved my time in the army but after 5 years I decided to leave to set up a small business in Swindon.
It was at this point that I got involved in politics and joined the Labour Party. After being heavily involved in local campaigning, I stood for parish council and then borough, winning both seats. Then I put my hat in the ring to stand as Member of Parliament for Swindon North. Why? Because I’d seen too many politicians get into power and do nothing.
I’m proud to be Swindon North’s first MP to be born in Swindon and deliver for the town, I’m bringing manufacturing jobs back to Swindon through turning the town into the UK’s Drone Hub. So far we’ve delivered over 800 jobs and I’m committed to delivering more.
But I won’t stop there. My missions for our town are simple to build a more prosperous more secure place.
